St. Bernards Hospice will host a spring bereavement program on May 11 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House at St. Bernards, located at 1148 East Matthews Avenue.
The Renewing Hope Through Remembrance program, planned for 6:30 p.m., coincides with the arrival of spring and with Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. “There is a heightened sense of living with loss through the changing seasons,” says Brenda Wiseman, so this seems an appropriate time of year to honor life and renew hope through remembrance.
Wiseman is a registered nurse who has 25 years’ experience working in hospice, oncology and bereavement.
St. Bernards Hospice offers in-home hospice services for patients who have family members or other caregivers who choose to remain in their homes as well as end-of-life care at the new Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House, a free-standing hospice house that can accommodate 20 patients.
The program is open to the interested public at no charge.
